What Is the Cahill Line? The Cahill Line, named after a district of Edina, Minnesota, is a light rail concept to serve the southwest Minneapolis metro communities of Saint Louis Park, Edina, Bloomington, and Savage. The line will connect to the Southwest Transit light rail system on the north end, in Saint Louis Park, and it will connect to the Twin Cities-Mankato intercity passenger line on the south end, in Savage. It will have approximately eight stops. The picture also shows the MN&S extension, a freight line. Canadian Pacific Railroad owns the railbeds for the Cahill Line and the MN&S extension.
